Beauford Delaney (1901 – 1979)

He was a friend of James Baldwin’s. According to Baldwin, Delaney taught him how to be an artist. Delaney honed his craft despite poverty and very little recognition for his work outside of Paris, France. With the interest and support of the Friends of Beauford Delaney, the artist is finally receiving the recognition that he deserved.
